Alcohol-Free Hugo Spritz

Alcohol-Free Hugo Spritz

Light, floral, and effortlessly elegant, the Hugo Spritz has quickly become a modern classic across Europe—and for good reason. Created in Northern Italy’s South Tyrol region in the early 2000s, this alpine aperitivo was originally crafted as a refreshing alternative to the more bitter Aperol or Campari Spritz. Instead of a bold red amaro, the Hugo leans into delicate elderflower cordial, crisp sparkling wine, soda water, and a handful of fresh mint. The result? A cooler, cleaner spritz that’s just as celebratory, but far more subtle in character.

This non-alcoholic Elderflower Hugo Spritz delivers all the charm of the original with none of the booze. Monsieur Cocktail’s Elderflower Syrup brings a fragrant floral sweetness, balanced by the crisp effervescence of Oddbird Blanc de Blancs and soda water. A generous handful of mint brightens each sip, adding a cooling finish that makes this drink sing.

Why reach for a non-alcoholic version? Because this spritz is proof you can embrace the ritual and glamour of aperitivo hour—without the alcohol. It’s light enough for daytime sipping, elegant enough for entertaining, and refreshing enough to enjoy anytime. Whether you’re poolside, at brunch, or simply taking a pause before dinner, the Elderflower Hugo Spritz is your go-to for a sophisticated, zero-proof escape.
